Food, the way it was meant to be.

For us, food was never just something that came off a supermarket shelf. We grew up around grains. Around sacks of wheat and pulses. Around conversations about quality, sourcing, harvests and farmers. Around a family business that has been working with grains for more than 50 years. Anaajoo was born from that experience — and from one simple principle passed down to us by our elders:

" If we can’t consume it ourselves, it isn’t good enough for our customers."

That principle continues to guide everything we do.

Welcome to Anaajoo.

Our Story

We didn’t discover the grain business. We grew up in it. As two kids growing up in a business family with more than five decades of experience in grains, food was always around us. We watched our grandfather and father work in the grain business. We saw how they selected produce, understood different qualities, worked with farmers and suppliers, and built relationships over generations. Without even realising it at the time, we were learning too. We learned that two products that look similar from the outside can be completely different in quality. We learned what to look for in a grain. We learned where good produce comes from. And, most importantly, we learned that in the food business, trust matters more than anything else. As we grew older, we started looking at the food market differently. We saw shelves filled with products. More brands. More packaging. More choices. More complicated labels. But behind all those choices, we felt something was missing:

Quality. Trust. Transparency.

And that led us to one question.

If we know how to identify good quality, if we know the sources, if we have relationships with farmers and suppliers — why shouldn’t we make that quality available to everyone?

That question became the beginning of Anaajoo. My sister and I decided to take what our family had learned over generations and build it for today’s consumer. Not by changing food. But by going back to what matters most.

Good ingredients. Good sourcing. Freshness. Transparency. And trust.

That’s how Anaajoo began.

A Principle Passed Down Through Generations

There is one thought from our elders that has stayed with us:

“If we can’t consume it ourselves, it isn’t good enough for our customers.”

For us, this isn’t a marketing line. It is the simplest way to explain how we want to build Anaajoo. Before asking whether something can be sold, we want to ask:

Would we bring this into our own home?

Would we serve it to our own family?

If the answer isn’t yes, it shouldn’t carry the Anaajoo name.

Why the Name Anaajoo?

It begins with Anaaj. Grain.

One of the simplest and most fundamental parts of food. For generations, anaaj has connected farmers, families, markets and kitchens across India. And it connects directly to our own family’s story. We wanted our name to remain rooted in where we came from, even as our world expanded beyond grains into flours, dals, spices, seeds, dry fruits and more.

Anaajoo is our way of taking generations of familiarity with food and building something for the next generation.

Why Anaajoo?

Because knowing your food makes a difference.

Our goal isn’t to have the biggest catalogue. It’s to build a range where every addition has a reason to carry the Anaajoo name.
